WAS ALMOST A SWEEP UNDER THE RUG FOR ME

Fun fact: I started to watch this drama because I thought it was going to be a love 'square' as the official poster suggested. I was all out for the 3 boys  for 1 girl story.

Question 1: Favorite character (s)?

M/A: Kim Si Yeol – Playful, carefree, and helped Hong Ju start a brand new life. He performed his watchman duties with so much skill and grace and always watched out for the people around him.

Noh Sung Gil (Chief Eunuch) – Even with his shadiness, his tenacity and wisdom were it for me. I don’t even want to imagine what would have happened if he had fearfully let out Kang San as Lee Sol.

Question 2: Favorite scene(s)?

M/A: Literally every Si Yeol scene. His swordsmanship is too excellent and so graceful, I even replayed to rewatch some of these scenes. His jokes, plays and honest show of affection towards Hong Ju were so interesting to watch.

To be very much specific, the scene with Kim Si Yeol fighting off the men that ambushed Kang San and finally revealing himself to Kang San as the watchman had me screaming. What a surprise!

🔊🔊🔊 I loved that Si Yeol, Kang San and Yoo Ha weren’t projected as super excellent sword men. Si Yeol been the most skilled of the three, Kang San not too good with sword fights but does well with arrows and Yoo Ha doing more justice to reading books than using swords and arrows gave the story reality touches. It’s such a small detail but it’s worthy of taking note of for me.

Si Yeol started feeling all human and regretful of his actions as a watchman only after he discovered he killed Hong Ju's fiance in the process was wow-ish for me. The power of love? Okay!

I feel this drama was dragged. 19 episodes was just too much. At some point, the whole Find Lee Seol saga started to get boring. I was able to stick around to the very end because of Si Yeol and Hong Ju. I already knew a few episodes into the drama that the tyrant king was going to get killed and Lee Seol was going to be crowned the new king. Aside from the unexpected twist with Lee Seol giving up the crown for Yoo Ha, I was right from the very beginning.

Yook Ho and Lady Na Ju added so much color to the drama too💐

I'd say it was not entirely a bad watch though.

My rating: 5/10 because I almost dropped it.

Current watch: Flower of evil, See you in my 19th life, King the land
