TITLE
Here is another thing that fueled my love for K-dramas, the drama titles. They are always sophisticated and elite. I might need to write a different blog exceptionally on this. Before then, I’ve decided to always dedicate a little part of my drama reviews to giving the drama title due credit.
Childe is a word I’ve never heard or seen until the thriller of the drama was released. I looked it up and it means “Nobleman”. Why did they have to name it with a synonym like that and get us 10x smarter than we were😭
I watch everything that has Kim Seon Ho, I had to watch “The Childe”. A few minutes into the film, it got boring but patience and trust that Kim Seon Ho never flops paid off in the end.
CHARACTERS
Marco – The most amazing thing about this character for me was how he outran Kim Seon Ho right after getting out of an accident. I don’t know if he truly did or Seon Ho didn’t want to keep chasing 🙂 Those running scenes were thrilling. Little did man know he was running away from solace into danger. Still, it’s safe to not do things you're very unsure of, I’d say.
The Childe/Noble Man/ Kim Seon Ho – I recall him telling Director Han how he was a pro and all. He is a professional, truly. That was such a strategic plan. I never thought Seon Ho Oppa would be able to pull off action roles like that. I think he is very playful, funny, harmless, and really outgoing in reality. “The Childe” really proved how much talent we have in him🏆 His cute dimpled face couldn’t stop the action energy from flowing and he just couldn’t do without his silly jokes😂 KIM SEON HO is precious✔️
SCENES
-Kim Seon Ho fighting off over twenty trained guards on his own. That should be the master scene of the drama and it didn’t even flop one bit. Kim Seon Ho executed with such charisma. This scene had me holding my breath until it was over because I had to think of Seon Ho's safety and Marco's safety too with the villain hiding in a corner and plotting “new things” and the school girl bitching around.
-The Seon Ho chasing Marco scenes. It gave me such an exciting adrenaline rush. I had to replay and rewatch some parts of it.
-The Marco/Seon Ho's last scene. It was so cute and touching when Marco rejected his “ this should be the last time you'd see me” handshake. This cannot be the last time, brother. I don’t want to be friends, you’re a brother. Oh my God! I was all smiles watching them cute away.
SOUNDTRACKS
They were mainly instrumentals that all made sense and fitted well into the setting. I want to clap for whoever did the selections and combinations.
RATING - 10/10
Funny how I waited on the release of this film (truly didn’t know it was going to be a film anyway) but missed it when it aired. It took an informant for me to know it aired days, maybe even weeks before I watched it😭
I had a feeling it wouldn’t be better than “KILL BOKSOON” but I was proven wrong on every level. It had a completely different storyline with the end twist I’m sure nobody expected. Getting money through such method is a bit too much and terribly risky. Still, such a huge amount should be worth the risk and more, I’d say. I thought Marco was really going to get torn up and his heart separated from his body, I was so worried about this, I had tears in my eyes watching it. The Childe, a kopino too was tactfully killing two birds with a stone. I'll definitely rewatch this one and get all my friends to watch too.
